Ask Your MP to Support the Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Bill

Some puppy and kitten dealers don’t care about the welfare of the animals they sell. They can make a fortune by shipping animals that have been bred in poor conditions overseas for sale here. There are laws in place for dog and cat imports, but there are loopholes that these uncaring puppy and kitten dealers exploit, putting both humans and animals in danger.

Fortunately, a potential law called the Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Bill is making its way through Parliament, which will help to properly manage the import of dogs and cats from outside the UK.

If this Bill doesn’t pass into law before autumn, we will miss this chance to protect dogs and cats from exploitation. We need to show MPs how much this matters, and we need your help to do this. Please take a moment to email your MP and ask them to support the Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Bill.
